July 24, 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the beginning of the Siouxland Coalition against Human Trafficking (SCAHT) . We spent the first year getting organized and informed, but since July of 2015, we have given presentations and trainings to over 10,000 people! We have spoken to parents, faith communities, students, law enforcement, teachers, social service organizations, drug recovery workers, social groups, and community members in general.
We have brought in people to speak on human trafficking, as it relates to things such as internet safety and pornography. We have had billboards, governmental proclamations, PSAs, interviews, a traveling exhibit, tables at various kinds of events, and more. All with the goal of informing people, so that there are more people who are able to help prevent others, especially our youth, from becoming victims of human trafficking, and who know how to help people who are already victims.
To observe our anniversary, we plan on doing more of the same – much more – if you will help. If you are interested in joining our effort, please contact us at scahtinc@gmail.com. A list of some of the things that we need help with is on the Get Involved tab. If you can’t join our efforts, but want to support them, please click on the Donate tab above.
Thank you.
